Dr. Medford attended Cornell University and completed his medical school training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers-UMDNJ). He performed his Internship at University Hospital and his Ophthalmology Residency at United Eye Hospital, both part of the Rutgers-UMDNJ system.

Dr. Medford has been in private practice since 1988, with a concentration in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He uses state of the art surgical techniques including LASER enhanced LenSx Cataract surgery, “No-Stitch,” “No-Needle” Cataract surgery, Intralase & Custom View LASIK, Yag & Argon laser procedures, SLT laser treatment for glaucoma and Botox Cosmetic treatments.

Dr. Medford is a past member of the NJAO Board of Governors. For 2 decades, he held the position of Director of the Morris County Eye Health Service as well as the Township Ophthalmologist for the West Orange Board of Health. He is the recipient of the NJ ARC award for professionals. He is an Attending Physician at both Morristown Memorial & St. Barnabas Hospitals as well as an Attending Physician, Founder & Shareholder at Ridgedale Surgical Center in Cedar Knolls. Dr. Medford’s professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, NJ Academy of Ophthalmology, Morris County Medical Society, Medical Society of NJ and the American Medical Association.
